The Sacramento Music Festival is celebrating its 40th Anniversary with world-class music entertainment at 19 venues from outdoor stages to clubs to luxury hotels to even a river boat. The Sacramento Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is hosting the 20th Anniversary Doggy Dash & Bark at the Park Festival to raise money for animals sheltered athte Sacramento SPCA. With an expected 5,000 turnout of animal lovers and enthusiasts, the main events are the 5K and 2K dog walk. Following the run/walk, participate or watch the 7th Annual Pug Races and Running of the Pugs. Enter the Pup show to compete for the ugliest dog, best wag, costume dog, best smile, bess kisser, and other awards. The Juneteenth Festival is a celebration of the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863 and freedom. The festival's activities include performances by Sacramento's best gospel artists, Juneteenth Mile (1 mile race), Juneteenth Emancipation Parade (with marching bands, car and motorcycle clubs, fraternities and sororities, etc.), music entertainment, Talent Show (hosted by Lee Perkins), Community Soldier Awards, Fishing Derby, Peace Stage Show, and much more. The Juneteenth Health/Wellness Pavilion will have on-site health screenings, physical activities, and healthy cooking demonstrations.
