The Ventura Film Society will be kicking off the 2013 season with a screening of "The Blue Lagoon". Producer and Director, Randal Kleiser and Actor, Christopher Atkins, will be in attendance for the 5th season launch. "The Blue Lagoon" is the 1st of 21 films to be screened this season. Ventura Film Society screenings will continue through December with showings every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month. Screenings will take place at 420 E. The Ventura Botantical Gardens will be hosting monthly Walks at Grant Park to exercise, explore, and appreciate nature on the 4th Saturday of every month. The Boogie Nights 5K Summer Run Series will be taking place every Wednesday evening from May 22nd to August 14th, except July 3rd.. The summer run series will have two phases: The Promenade Series will be from May 22 - July 17th (no run on July 3) and the Trail Series from July 24th - August 14. This event is a great way to exercise and meet people on a weekday while helping raise money for the Buena High School cross country program. There will also be a free Kids 1K Run before every 5K to encourage kids to be physically active and healthy.
