Completed in 1988, the Hsi Lai Temple is the largest Buddhist temple in the Western Hemisphere, boasting 15 acres of shrines, gardens, meeting halls, offices, classrooms, museum, dining hall, and gift shop. It attracts devoted followers of all nationalities, as well as curious tourists. The Spring Festival, which celebrates the Lunar New Year, attracts tens of thousands of people to the temple.
