Rabobank Arena is the premier Bakersfield venue for live entertainment year round including concerts, all-age family shows, and community performances by the Bakersfield Community Concert Association.  Rabobank Arena is also home to the American Hockey League's Bakersfield Condors whose season runs from October to April. 

To purchase events tickets, the Rabobank Arena's box office is open from Monday to Friday, 10:00am to 5:00pm and special hours on weekend event days.  Call the box office for special hours and more information at (661) 852-7300.

Getting to Rabobank Arena Theater and Convention Center is made easy due to its downtown location.  Public transportation is readily available and encouraged to avoid traffic congestion getting to and leaving from the venue.  There is an Amtrak station located down the street at 601 Truxtun Ave and visitors may also use Route 45 of the GET Bus system.  Parking is available on N Street for $6-$25 depending on event and vehicle type.

The 1500 seat Fox Theater in Downtown Bakersfield first opened in 1930 and still has its rare Art Deco style interior intact. The venue is known for its acoustics and hosts live shows all year round. Events include concerts, ballet, and other live performances for all interests and age groups.

The Fox Theater Box Office is open Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 5:30pm with extended hours for show nights and weekend events. Tickets for all Fox Theater shows can be purchased at the box office or online. Contact the box office for more information at (661) 489-4369.

The San Joaquin Community Hospital Ice Center of Bakersfield better known as the Bakersfield Ice Sports Center is the go-to Downtown Bakersfield hockey facility. The Bakersfield Ice Center is home to the Bakersfield Condors as well as adult and youth league hockey, public skating, and sled hockey. The facility has an onsite hockey equipment retailer, Discount Hockey Bakersfield, for all hockey and skate needs as well as Condors merchandise.

New skaters can take private or group lessons to learn how to skate with coaches. Choose from Freestyle lessons for figure skaters or attend group format Skate School for any age, from Ice Babies to Adult classes.

The Bakersfield Museum of Art first opened in 1956 and has provided educational opportunities and visual art exhibits to the Bakersfield community throughout its 60 year history. Comprised of 17,400 square feet, the museum boasts a permanent collection of painting, paper, photography, and sculpture work from California artists as well as seasonal exhibitions.

The Bakersfield Museum of Art also hosts unique events such as Yoga at the Museum and Art after Dark which mixes current exhibits with craft cocktails. Museum hours vary daily so be sure to visit their website for more information.

The Buena Vista Museum of Natural Historypromotes the education of the natural history of Kern County and has the largest collection of Shark Tooth Hill Miocene fossils in the world. The Buena Vista Museum includes exhibits for anatomy, archeology, anthropology, biology, geology, and paleontology all under the same roof.

Museum members are eligible to participate in Paleo Digs at Ernst Quarries where all diggers are allowed to keep any teeth and fossils they find with some exceptions.
