Whenever I am traveling to San Diego, I stay at the Vagabond Airport Marina. Forget your fears about airplane noise. Think instead about staying in a hotel with quiet, well appointed rooms that are near a number of nice restaurants. Now think about that hotel being one minute from the marina, with free parking and free internet. Now consider that that hotel costs 1/2 to a 1/3 of what you would pay to stay at a noisy place downtown. This is the best lodging value in San Diego, nothing else comes close.
